Join us to utilize our fall harvest to make botanical inks and dyes! Using plants grown and foraged at the Dartmouth Organic Farm, we'll make small batches of ink for drawing and writing, and we'll dye some fabric to be later made into book cloth. We'll go through the process of creating a dye bath from whole plant materials, applying dyes and natural inks to paper and cloth, and discuss techniques for adjusting hue and improving colorfastness and lightfastness. Expect to get messy and don't wear your best clothes.
